REVERIE

Vadodara, 2025
Residential

Reverie is an intimate 800 sq. ft. 2BHK home imagined as a pause between the real and the mystical—designed for a single lady who practices tarot reading and hosts one-on-one sessions. The space unfolds like a quiet daydream, where material honesty, fluid planning, and soft tactility shape a deeply personal sanctuary. Anchored in a palette of warm neutrals, muted pinks, and sunset hues, the home celebrates raw wood, lime/texture-painted walls, handcrafted details, and tactile surfaces that invite touch and stillness. The finishes are intentionally imperfect—brushed textures, gentle curves, and layered tones—creating a sense of calm that aligns with the intuitive nature of the user.

The planning departs from convention. The original kitchen was converted into a library, now the soul of the home, where tarot sessions are conducted. Custom-built shelving, integrated desk space, and a cocooned seating arrangement transform this room into a contemplative, almost ritualistic environment—functional yet atmospheric. Books, cards, and artifacts are displayed as part of the architecture, blurring the line between storage and storytelling. To enhance openness, the second bedroom was dissolved into the main layout, forming an expansive open-plan living–dining–kitchen. Arched transitions, curved ceilings, and fluid floor patterns guide movement organically through the space, making the home feel larger, softer, and more intuitive. The kitchen blends quietly into the background, allowing social interaction and daily rituals to coexist without rigid boundaries.

In the master bedroom, the bed back becomes a sculptural element. Behind it, a cleverly concealed closet zone optimizes space without interrupting the visual calm. A warm gradient backdrop, layered textiles, and diffused lighting turn the room into a restful retreat—private, grounding, and sensorial.

Civil interventions were minimal yet impactful, focused on opening up volumes, redefining functions, and improving spatial flow rather than adding excess. Throughout the home, furniture remains low and rounded, lighting is soft and indirect, and every corner serves a purpose—whether functional or emotional.

Overall, Reverie is not just a home, but an experience—a thoughtfully reimagined apartment where unconventional planning meets soulful design, tailored to its user’s lifestyle, profession, and inner world. It is a space to live, read, reflect, and connect—quietly powerful, deeply personal, and intentionally slow.
